Water Softener
Tap or well water is usually colorless and contains a number of components which are not visible to our eyes. Among those components, that is not visible are calcium and magnesium compounds which are the typical factor for causing "hardness ". Water which contains the huge amount of these compounds is called "hard water" and less amount is called "soft water".
What is Soft water and Hard Water?
There are different ways to coin the origin of word “Hard Water”. There are some traditional sayings [When you boil beans and if becomes hard then the water is hard; or when silk is scoured and if it becomes hard then the water is hard]. In fact, it has always been thought that "hard water contains a component that makes other things hard too. Conversely, when soft water is used, beans and silk become soft. Apparently, the hardness and softness of water is determined by the concentration of minerals like calcium and magnesium. It is clear, there is no standard limit of these minerals that defines whether water is hard or soft. However, water showing hardness up to about 30 mg / l is regarded as hard water. Our softener from Organo has managed to reduce hardness to less than 1 mg / l. For drinking purpose, the permissible limit by government for hardness is 300 mg /l. From this result, it is understandable that the water supply from tap is almost equivalent to soft water.
